About Rick Strobaugh

Rick Strobaugh

My first real training in photography was photographing crime scenes, traffic accidents, injuries, dead bodies and autopsies as a Police Officer and later as a Detective in charge of our Crime Scene Investigation Unit. I eventually used that training to shoot more pleasing subjects in the way of landscapes, wildlife and close-up photography. After retiring, I travel a lot through the western US exploring new areas and shooting photographs. I find many of my shooting locations while running marathons, backpacking, hiking or just driving up dirt roads into the mountains.
